Toni Attell’s
background as an Emmy nominated actress. Her credits
includes a variety of work in television and movies, as
well as, experience working with some of the masters of
the performance arts field, internationally. Some of
these include Jean Louis Barroult. Marcel Marceau and
Mamako Yoenyama for mime, Carlos Mazzonne for Comedia
del Arte, Bill Ball, David Dukes, Paul Shanar, David
Alexander, Nina Foche and Harvey Lembeck for
improvisation, comedy and acting.
Toni performed with the American Conservatory Theater in
San Francisco, Theater West in Los Angeles and toured
over 350 colleges in the United States as a
mime-comedienne. She taught master classes in movement
and acting and won best act on that circuit. She also
created and performed five one-woman shows. Toni started
the Comedy Store Players and opened and performed with
the improv groups The Committee and Off the Wall. She
choreographed and taught the clowns at Ringling Bros and
Barnum & Bailey Circus and also choreographed a variety
of music videos including Kim Carnes Betty Davis Eyes.
Toni taught and helped create a summer program for
actors and writers at the Los Angeles Theater Center
working with Bill Bushnell. She recently toured Japan
and China performing her new one woman shows as well as
teaching acting. Toni has toured internationally as a
speaker and a lecturer. She started a stand-up comedy
group comprised of children called “The Comedy Pups.”
that was featured on National Television. Toni taught
acting for seventeen years and holds classes in Sherman
Oaks where she teaches acting for children, teens, and
adults. She recently began teaching acting for seniors
whom she affectionately calls her “Silver Foxes” of
which 18 got national commercials.
As a comedienne and mime she was the opening act for Jay
Leno, Steve Martin and Robin Williams. In 2002-2003 she
hosted her own radio show on KRLA talk radio called “The
Romantic Intuitive.” Toni is currently acting, lecturing
and performing and is writing a column for The Tolucan
Times called “The Chatterbox-The Biz.” She has extensive
background writing and acting in Movies and Television.
Toni has created a workshop that she teaches at USC
School of Cinema titled “The Acting Experience for
Writers.” She has also created two special classes for
UCLA extension titled “Hypnosis and Intuition for the
Actor in Acting”, “Comedy Boot Camp”, and “Acting
Techniques II: Scene Study.” She has alsocreated the
following new classes “Hypnosis and Relaxation
Techniques for Writers, Directors and Producers”,
“Stand-Up Comedy and One-Man Shows for
Writers-Performers”, and “Performance Workshop For
Children.” Toni is currently teaching at The Chandler
Theatre. She is a master Hypnotherapist, Metaphysician
and Intuitive and is the first in her field to use
hypnosis in conjunction with acting, writing and
direccting. Toni is a member of The Academy of Arts and
Sciences and is on the “Blue Ribbon Panel” that votes on
the Emmys and is also a board member of The San Fernando
Valley International Film Festival.
Ms. Attell is the recipient of The Award of Excellence,
The Angel Award and the Transpersonal Therapist of the
Year Award from the International Hypnosis Federation
and is currently writing a book for children called
“Just Kidding-Stand-Up Comedy For Kids Of All Ages.”
