Clown/The neutral mask/The body poetic

An actress, director and master teacher at ACTING INTERNATIONAL for the past five years, CLAUDE VIALA was  trained at the famed Jacques LECOQ’s Ecole internationale de theatre where she studied melodrama, commedia dell’arte,  the buffoons, tragedy and clowns, as well as Lecoq’s specialties : mimodramatics and geodramatics.

 

She has directed plays by Dario FO, FUENTE OVEJUNA by Lope DE VEGA, CRUSADES by Michel AZAMA, The ATELIER by Jean-Claude GRUMBERG and the adaptation of Léon TOLSTOI’s The GEAR, actually on tour in France.  

 

As an actress she has worked intensively on stage with such directors as Serge MARTIN, Stéphane BRAUNSCHWEIG, director of The National Theatre and School of Strasbourg, Yoshi OÏDA, close collaborator of Peter BROOK,Solange OSWALD, Pierre CHABERT, Anna PRUCNAL, Jean MAISONNAVE …playing characters as different as Nastassia Philpovna in Dostoievski’ THE IDIOT, Lucille Desmoulins in Büchner’s DANTON’S DEATH, Ismène in Anouilh’s ANTIGONE, Martine in Molière’s farces, and Monique in THE KITCHEN by Wesker. She has also played leads in films by BOCCAROSSA.
