» Clara McBride

 

 

A bilingual performer, Clara has enjoyed playing Mme Martin in Ionesco’s La Cantatrice Chauve, Gloria in Tremblay’s Saint Carmen de la Main, as well as Hamlet and Gertrude in Hamlet, Prudence in Beyond Therapy and Catherine in Williams’ Suddenly Last Summer. Clara teaches impro in French and English at the Impro Academy Paris. She joined the Improfessionals right when it was best.

 

An absolute Canadian, Clara has lived extensively throughout the country, from the Northern Yukon Territory to the Eastern shores of the Atlantic. Her artistic accomplishments are as varied as her addresses: classical viola player, captain of a Quebec national improvisational team, stage actor and published writer. In Paris since 1997, she has studied at Acting International, a bilingual school based on melding European and North American techniques, and with Ariane Mnouchkine at The Théâtre du Soleil.Clara is co-founder of Acthéart, a French theatre company which has recently produced the Québécois, Michel Marc Bouchard’s play Les Muses Orphelines
